People are influenced by what appears on social media. Unless a company steers those conversations their brand will be created for them, by others.

David Walmsley

Social Media Strategist

David is a social media strategist who has helped companies in many sectors get a grip of their social media potential.

David Walmsley started in the industry in 2003, before social media was born. David attended the University of British Columbia: holding an undergraduate degree with a double major in sociology and English literature.

David has managed social media campaigns across multiple sectors, including telecom, education, medical research, security, fashion, advertising, and real estate. David has also performed at large speaking engagements. His broad experience in the medium allows him to create multifaceted campaigns that captivate audiences and increase brand value.

David has been a social media strategist on brands that include Roam Mobility, OncoSec Medical, Retailpond/The 100 Mile, TEDxVancouver, Left Coast Naturals, Bodwell Private High School, Ecrypt Inc., Sports Interaction and ToyWatch. David also writes for international fashion and design publications, such as The Genteel, and consults for fashion and music brands.

Running the gamut from strategy consulting to tactical content creation, David has a knack for advancing brands in the digital space. Experience with startups, corporations, and everything inbetween has prepared him for anything you can throw at him. He works best as part of an integrated marketing and branding approach, taking responsibility for delivering the social component.

If you manage to find him not working, he’s probably conducting research on some abstract topic, just to expand his reach. He’s like that.
