Bryan Mitten is a recognized leader in media strategy with two decades of experience in the planning, buying, and implementation of media campaigns across traditional and digital channels.
After working in marketing, Bryan made to the move to Media at Genesis Media’s Vancouver office (now Vizeum), where he was print and broadcast buyer for clients like the Government of Canada, Volkswagen, and Safeway. During that time, his work in media research was often recognized by Marketing Magazine, listing his analysis in its Recommended Reading section.
Bryan moved on to Web development firm Columbus Group in 2000, developing online-specific media programs and pioneering many industry tactics, including the introduction of paid search.
Columbus Group was acquired a year later by TELUS where Bryan continued servicing external clients, growing the digital marketing team. He and his team won numerous industry awards for clients like BC Lotteries, Intrawest, Tourism Vancouver, Ontario Tourism, Sierra Wireless, Vancouver Film School, CIBC, GSK, and Inuit.
Over time, Bryan’s role evolved to focus on TELUS’ own consumer marketing and in his role as a digital strategist he led the in-house team implementing all consumer-focused digital advertising campaigns.
In 2006, Bryan left TELUS to join LUSH Cosmetics as North American Marketing Manager and Online Marketing Manager. During his tenure, he successfully led the launch of a new brand direction for the North American market, built the regional marketing team, and grew the company’s online sales by over 30% in one year.
Bryan returned to his Media roots in 2007, founding Dog Park Digital, a digital marketing consultancy. He has planned and executed hundreds of ad campaigns since.
Bryan has been a regular speaker at industry events, guest lecturer for several post-secondary Marketing programs, and board member of the International Internet Marketing Association.
