Chris Dallin

Brand Strategist / Creative

Chris has twenty three years experience as a brand planner, helping clients discover and express what makes them special.

Chris has a BA in English from the University of Alberta and 23 years’ experience helping clients discover and express what makes them special. After a brief stint as a sports reporter in Saskatoon, Chris launched his creative career in 1991 as copywriter and moved to Vancouver in 1994 seeking warmer winters.

In 1999, Chris moved on to Ken Koo Creative (later, Cossette Communication Group). In early 2001, he joined Hangar 18 Creative Group as VP Strategy winning awards for the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, UBC and Whistler Real Estate and more. Chris launched Kontent Creative Group in 2008, which was later acquired by Red Rocket Creative Strategies.

In the summer of 2011 Chris was recruited by DDB Canada to be Director of Branding & Design, later becoming Managing Director of Karacters, DDB’s design studio. Under his leadership, Karacters won international awards, doubled revenues and navigated a global merger.

Chris’s clients including Ausenco, Servus Credit Union, Colton’s, Skuna Bay and most visibly, Sprott Shaw College’s recent rebrand. Chris is most proud of his strategy credit in Communication Arts for the 2011 BC Egg Marketing Board annual report.

“After 20 years’ experience, my time at DDB was like getting a PhD in corporate communications”, says Chris. Today, I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned over the years in a more nimble, focused and affordable format. Chris considers being a brand planner in the creative services industry a calling rather than a career.
