Revelate – Data Democratization
Creating a brand for a data monetization company in hyper-growth.

Revelate, then called TickSmith, approached us after securing a significant Series A round to scale sales and marketing for international expansion.
Their technology already powered data marketplaces and monetization programmes, but their brand emphasized its origins in capital markets, rather than their broader role in modern data ecosystems.
They needed a stronger, more human market position, a straightforward narrative about what problem they solve, and alignment on how they go to market. At the heart of the challenge was a powerful idea: that by democratising access to usable, well-packaged data, organizations can move faster, make better decisions, and help people and society progress.

Our Approach
We began with strategy, clarifying where the company should play in a crowded landscape of data platforms, exchanges, and marketplaces.
Using stakeholder interviews and market research, we mapped their future buyers, from data and analytics leaders to business development and compliance teams, and defined their rational and emotional drivers.
We built out our full persona development, market positioning, vision, values, and a suite of key messages that connect day-to-day product features, such as automated fulfilment and marketplace experiences, to the bigger promise of faster innovation and societal progress.
The final step was renaming TickSmith to Revelate, a name that speaks to revealing and elevating the value of data, supported by trademark clearance for use in major developed markets, and creating a complete graphic identity system that expresses data in motion, connectivity, and scale.
The new brand idea is centred on accessible, self-serve data fulfilment, positioning Revelate as the platform that sits alongside your cloud environment and handles packaging, governed access, and the delivery of data products from anywhere to anyone, without taking ownership of the underlying data.

The rebrand was pivotal for us. It reset our culture, helped us attract the right talent, and signalled to the market that Revelate had fundamentally evolved. The work was executed with precision and real forethought.
Ian Gilbert – CEO Revelate

The outcome was a sharpened market position and a brand that now matches the sophistication of the underlying platform. Revelate is framed as a fully automated data fulfilment and marketplace solution that prepares, packages, governs, and distributes data from any source to any consumer, helping organizations unlock new revenue streams and improve access to insight without adding operational burden.
The new name, narrative, and identity gave the company a more powerful story for investors, partners, and customers alike, supporting their shift from a specialist capital markets tool while staying anchored in a simple promise, make high quality data easy to find, easy to use, and easy to act on, so businesses, and the people they serve, can move forward faster.
